A lot of us support the secrecy around UFOs without even realizing it

Just saw in another sub an article critical of Tom DeLonge for saying that the secrecy around UFOs and alien presence on Earth is actually justified, and people keeping the secret are patriots. A lot of people are hating on DeLonge because of this.

But here’s the thing: many of us think the government secrecy behind the alien presence is due to major powers like the US, China and Russia wanting to fully reverse engineer the downed spacecraft. Countries disclosing it before they have full control of the tech is supposedly bad, for some mysterious reason (by that logic, during the space race, the US should’ve only revealed the Apollo program once Armstrong and Buzz were already on the Moon, which is ludicrous).

Leaving aside the fact that supposedly the government and private companies already tested reversed craft and the fact that some hardcore believers even state that there’s a secret space program that uses said technology, since y’all believe that secrecy is paramount to developing this tech before China or Russia, then y’all support the secrecy.

So why do you hate DeLonge when he’s basically saying what you implicitly think? Why do you want disclosure if keeping the secret is so important when it comes to this “arms race”? You should do the opposite and not want disclosure before we fully control the tech.

PS: I’m not in either the DeLonge nor the disclosure team, it just aggravates me seeing people holding blatant contradictory positions.
