We discover at the end of World War Two, the byproduct of an arms race against the soviets. Our nuclear weapons dropped them out of the sky, they were always there. Just on the outskirts of our detection capabilities.

So the arms race continues, under cover of maintaining military advantage over foreign adversaries. We are holding our planet hostage with nukes, we are using our massive arsenal as a front to buy time. Maybe we’re on the cusp of some leap in defense tech. Maybe were close but it’s not quite there.

Or not, I’m just having a fun with how active things are these days! Hard to believe something is really coming out in our lifetimes.
