Totally messed up my earlier attempt to post so apologies for that! I hope this works. Super curious to know if anyone can explain what this might be. This footage was taken with an iPhone 12 camera at 1.00am Thursday AEST. It shows the night sky facing North East (towards the eastern edge of Hobart) from the small town of Cygnet, Tasmania, Australia. Roughly 35 kms from hobart. (South East coast of tassie). This is a rural area, and beyond the horizon where I filmed this lies a combination of farmland, mountains, natural bush, and coastal waters. I witnessed this two mornings in a row. After the first time, I told my mum about it and she asked me to fetch her from bed if it started happening again. I was waiting outside on the back veranda to see if it would happen again. At about 12.55 am I began to see these small flashing white lights whizzing around in the sky. I took a few quick videos (all rubbish) then went to get my mum, and upon retuning to the veranda was able to capture this. It is very difficult to see what is happening in this video, and I strongly recommend you watch it in a pitch black room, and give it a few chances if you’re not seeing anything. Also, if you watch it with the sound on, I am sorry in advance for my seedy drunk voice haha. What can I say? I’m an Aussie.
