How do people begin their careers as grifters who lie about what they experienced? And why don’t we all do it?

I believe we have UFO evidence, and I also believe while some people did experience something true, that there are the few wacky people who just decide one day that they’re going to role play an alien experience as a chosen one and they start writing books and doing podcasts. I could imagine if it works, it’s an interesting career, other than the moral part of lying, but if you just say hey, I’m creating science fiction, people enjoy the stories, I enjoy telling the stories I’ve come up with, it’s a win win and now I get to sell books and have 15 min of fame, cause why not? Beats working at McDonalds lol. So I think these guys just skipped the idea of wanting to write fiction books for readers and decided to larp their entire life away in a fantasy. Is that such a bad thing? If it works, it works attitude applies here. Would I be able to come up with some crazy story of being in an alien army and get paid by Gaia to explain all that I come up with, and get a good pay day? The incentive is there. Would I feel like a deceiving dude while doing it? Probably, but that’s where you should just switch to being a fiction writer and come up with the next Lord of the Rings and not lie on TV, but people do it anyways.
