If we have contacted NHI / retrieved UFOs, we have no way to verify we haven’t been told lies to deceive us. The phenomenon is “unknowable”.

All this recent chat of “the dark side of the phenomenon” has me wondering, if we (humans) have met NH races, we have no way of knowing if their communication with us is sincere or real at all. Instead of “several races” some of them with “hostile intentions” towards humanity, we could be interacting with one race pretending to be several, or even worse, not with a whole NH race but a small fraction of that race, let’s say the equivalent of the French or the Chinese in their society, or even worse, with one individual which is “speaking” for all of them, the NH equivalent of Elon Musk, to say an example.

The thing with the phenomenon is that we have no way of knowing if we are being lied to, deceived, if we are part of a play, or a plan, or if we are just a resources tile in a space game of Civ IV. Without exaggeration, how difficult would it be for let’s say, a group of resourceful Americans, to pretend to be gods from another planet to an isolated society, an island in the middle of the sea? It’s not like those poor islanders can take a plane to America or Europe and actually verify if they’re being honest with them, the same could be happening to us, instead of believing we are retrieving useful UAPs from visitors from other worlds, we could be monkeys playing with a tricycle they threw at us for mere entertainment.

Whatever the truth (so far!) of the phenomenon is, if there indeed has been interaction between human beings and a superior intelligence, we might as well assume we could be ants in an ant farm or a short game of Sudoku while being in the toilet.
