My vote is for interdimensional entity rather than extraterrestrial entity. Here to me interdimensional means something live alongside with us which is not in our dimensions of senses. For example virus is interdimensional before the existence of microscope. We can see the effect (e.g becoming sick) of virus but human of that time couldn’t grasp the mechanism of it. To further clear things up, When whale jump up from the ocean we see the water movement and splash and the whale. But if we could only see the water movement not the whale in any measurement then to me that invisible whale is interdimensional.
So, My vote is something intelligent (not super) live alongside us but sometimes we can only see the effect.
Why it is not extraterrestrial
Ufo phenomenon is really old. Many ancient civilization has tales about it and passed down to us through oral tradition. That is why it doesn’t make any sense to me why it will be extraterrestrial highly intelligent entity. Ok debate aside, It is atleast 100 years old phenomenon.
My reasonings are
Goal: Any intelligent things must have goal driven action. Maybe they have some goals on earth (e.g exploration). Many years have passed but they still can not achieve their goal is mind boggling. They are bending physics (it seems) but can not achieve their goals is contradictory interm of intellectual capabilities. We already mapped entire mars within two decades.
Resources: Any kind of activity requires resources and cost opportunities. It can be energy, time, computation (thinking) resources or cost of opportunities like spending time with loved one instead of meeting, playing game instead of doing work. So a super advance civilization spending their resources on earth for generations after generation for no apparent reason is not sensible (atleast to me).
My reasoning about why it is interdimensional
There is no goal they need to achieve. They are living on earth like other animals. They are living mundane life in their dimension. Hunting food which is in their dimension too. As they have no particular goal they don’t need to spend resources and opportunities to that particular goal to. It also explain why this phenomenon is really old. Because they are part of this earth as we are.
Some other speculation
Crossing dimension has adverse effect that is why they may not prefer crossing it. They are super super advance civilization and god like. So they don’t feel any limitation. Still god is not beyond logic. 2 apple + 2 apple is equal 3 apple is not logical to god too. On the other hand they are god like is highly imaginative. Where is the end of this imagination? I can say Giga God is commanding godlike being to do irrational things that is why they are doing irrational ufo sightings. Their activities are beyond our understanding. It is still imaginative. Our brain is capable of logical understanding. Superintelligent being can formulate logical explanation to us so we can understand it. They are not providing any so they are not superintelligent. They are secretly watching. For thousands of years? Still watching? Prevent war? They couldn’t prevent war and can not in future.
If you consider all this things, there is no way one can conclude the existence of super advance (intelligent) alien entity on earth. If they are not super advance they can not do galactic travelling, so are not extraterrestrial.
