Is the Travis Walton story a hoax?

I’m going to have the opportunity to speak with Travis Walton somewhat soon and I’d like to hear from anyone who has solid criticism to level at him and his story before I do.

I’m well aware of the mainstream narrative and all the reasons that supposedly make his story sound legitimate. But I’ve also heard a few things that cast some serious doubts on the entire event and so I’d like to hear from others who have done a much deeper dive than myself.

I’ve heard that:

although he passed a polygraph test, he also failed one as well that there was some sort of contest for “wildest ufo story” that Travis and his coworkers entered and subsequently won quite a few thousand dollars I’m pretty sure I’ve read somewhere that there is a recording of his foreman speaking to someone on the phone during which he more or less says that his story was a hoax
