I’m sure someone has probably connected the two already, but if not I’d like to give the opportunity for people to comment with some interesting connections between the two of their own.
The Jelly Fish was nicknamed “The Flying Spaghetti Monster” by the soldiers on the base. TFSM (The Flying Spaghetti Monster) was something that comes from the Discordians. If you do not know anything about the Discordians know that pretty much any Wes Anderson movie are shot in the Discordian style if you will. Wes Anderson seem deeply into Discordianism if he’s not already one himself. The Discordians go to a lot of pagan festivals. Basically the general purpose is to cause discord so they love to make fun of christians & conservatives among others. If your grandparents were hippies they can probably tell you all about Discordians.
The Discordians believe in “The Flying Spaghetti Monster” and it’s insane to see our first real video of an alien or something from another dimension and it looks exactly like what the Discordians worship. What makes it even weirder is that the soldiers on the base referred to it as TFSM.
If anyone has any information to add or maybe fix some information I’ve given that would be greatly appreciated.
Just wanted to add if you think TFSM is a reference to Pastafarinism it’s not. They basically stole TFSM idea from the Discordians.
