“Weird thing: Karl Nell, whom @lesliekean says worked for the US Army with the UAP task force in her Debrief article this past June, claims on his LinkedIn profile that he works (or worked) for Army Futures Command.
But Army Futures Command says they’ve never heard of him
A communications liaison there told me, “We have no Karl Nell working at Army Futures Command. We are unsure on where to direct you next but can tell you he does not work here at AFC.” and
“I’ve found no evidence Mr. Nell works at AFC, now or ever.”
So the guy Kean uses to backstop the reputation of David Grusch “never existed” at the agency where he claims to have been employed on his LinkedIn page, which presumably was intended to lend him some credibility.
I also tried to reach Karl Nell directly through email.
I found a private email address, as well as one like “xxx@army.mil“. AFC told me that email address is not valid and “doesn’t appear on a global list of army emails. I suspect that email is fake as well.”
As if that all wasn’t bizarre enough, it seems someone…
has set up a fake honeypot website for Army Futures Command at armyfuturescommand.com — it goes to the right place (army.mil/futures), but email to it (a knell@armyfuturescommand.com is online) goes into a black hole.
AFC told me this US-hosted website isn’t theirs
“Karl Nell” is a real person known to exist in meatspace (he presented at Garry Nolan’s Sol Conference), but his background at Army Futures Command seems in doubt.
And it’s bizarre that someone’s squatting on a division of the Army ; I wonder if there are more like that?!
Anyway, certainly there may be a miscommunication or simple error here, but it all seems quite peculiar, and it’s something people may wish to dig into further.
