Let’s discuss pros and cons. While it’s obvious that we should insist on full PAC donation transparency to prevent dark money influece, should we demand that the big names behind the disclosure movement disclose their last 20 years of voter registrations to see if a pattern emerges? Tax returns?

Should we be alarmed if we see the trend skew to one side or the other? Let’s discuss the pros and cons of each individual point. No mudslinging please. Let’s have an intelligent conversation. Point by point. If we are to go to the trouble of contacting our reps, is it not reasonable that every single donor be disclosed? The stigma is gone, no jobs lost or carriers ruined? Should we not see who’s bankrolling this operation? Is it reasonable to ask these people to disclose their sources of income? I believe it is, we demand it of anyone in a position of authority. What if we find that 90% are democrats taking checks from George Soros? Or Republicans taking orders from Marianne adelstien? Or Lockheed? These are examples only. I don’t intend to waste time on this particular hypothetical, it’s only an example. Why or why not? Does the standard we apply here also apply elsewhere? Why or why not?
