Long term development in public UFO discussion?

I have been following the UFO phenomenon pretty much as long as there has been internet publicly available, and more intensively around 15 years. During these almost 30 years, there have always been whistleblowers and very convincing witness reports.

But what is a new phenomenon, talking about the past 2-3 years max., is that more mainstream news and also government sources now comment more and more on this topic.

So the question is, is there really something building up, or is this just me seeing things that have occurred all the time? Has anyone else, who has been around for longer, noticed the same, for example?
