First, I want to make clear that I am not saying that intelligent life doesn’t exist in the entire universe. In fact I think it is almost a mathematical certainty that we are not alone. However I do not see any compelling reason to believe that we have been visited by UFOs.
My primary reasons for thinking this are that:
1. The universe is so vast, what are the chances that intelligent life is both close enough in proximity AND technologically capable of visiting our planet? The nearest star is multiple light years away. Even traveling at tens of thousands of miles per hour, it would take tens of thousands of years to reach the next closest star. 2. If intelligent life is close by, what are the chances that they even discover our planet? We have only been broadcasting our presence via relatively weak radio signals into space for only a few decades. 3. Assuming that the major world powers have been hiding the existence of extraterrestrials, how, in a world where everyone has a camera in their pocket, has the government been able to keep all irrefutable evidence from leaking? Presumably thousands of people around the world would be needed to study, transport, and reverse engineer such technology.
Now let’s talk about the supposed statements by Grusch. During his testimony, he claimed that the government has been hiding the existence of Aliens. For what it’s worth, I actually do believe that his testimony is truthful. However even he admits that his information comes from second hand sources and so far as not produced real evidence.
In general , I believe that nearly all UFO sightings can be explained by one of the following :
1. Secret government military projects (either domestic or foreign) 2. Mischaracterized objects such as weather balloons, hobbyist projects, etc. 3. CGI (fakes photos and videos)
At this point, I’m sure many of you are considering the fact that Grusch is just one of many government officials to claim that the government is hiding the truth about extraterrestrials.
The two sources that I’ve heard the most from are John Ramirez and Jim Semivan. Listening to them speak, my first impression was that they both seem like very intelligent people.
However, if you dig a little bit deeper, their claims start to sound a little far-fetched. For example, look at this interview where Ramirez claims fought reptilians.
Jim Semivan makes similarly bizarre claims, although he is a bit more vague in his descriptions.
Personally, I don’t buy what they have to say, and there is currently zero scientific evidence to suggest the existence of anything like multi dimensional beings or malicious reptilian shapeshifters.
My initial conclusion was that these people are suffering from a medical condition like sleep paralysis, or even something like scizophrenia, sleep paralysis.
However, thinking about it more, I find this conclusion unlikely. The CIA has a very rigorous selection process. John Ramirez even explained the process himself in a podcast he was featured in: he noted that he went through an intense series of interviews by government officials, and that even his friends, family, and neighbors were questioned about his past, his character, etc. If both he and Jon were suffering from mental illness, don’t you think the selection process would have caught it?
Another thing that seems suspect to me is the way that they refer to themselves as “former” CIA. Whether or not that is true, I’d like to pose a question: can you ever really be ‘former’ CIA? In my mind, once you are part of the intelligence community, there is no leaving.
So then, the only conclusion I am left with is that they are being deceitful.
So, why would they lie? Well, one primary effect of these wild claims is that they delegitimize the UFO community as a whole. Now, instead of saying “Grusch’s claims are false”, which will do nothing to convince the skeptics, the government can now say “Come on! Look at the people that are coming forward. This guy believes he’s fighting reptilians. Does that sound legit?”.
So then the next obvious question is, “why does the government want to discredit the people pushing for UFO disclosure?”
In my opinion, it is because the primary objective of the CIA is to protect the interests of the country. In order to provide transparency on UFOs the government will also need to recognize a swath of secret government projects that they’d likely rather not disclose to the public, and by extension, foreign adversaries.
Tl;Dr: Intelligent extraterrestrials might be real, but I do not believe they have visited Earth. The government is not hiding the existence of aliens, but they are hiding the existence of a lot of secret tech, and disclosure means bringing a lot more attention to it. I believe that some (but not all) government whistleblowers are plants whose job is to damage the credibility of the UFO community by making illogical claims.
