Some members of my family reside in León, Spain. Both the husband and wife work at a country house located close to the city, a few kilometers away. They commute from the city to the house for work.
One night in the early 2000s, as they were returning home, they suddenly noticed lights above their car. They stopped in the middle of the road to observe, as they initially thought it was a plane flying low, although they heard no sound.
They saw what they described to me as a giant wheel with multiple red lights inside, hovering about 10 meters above their heads. They estimated it to be 4-5 times the size of their car. They quickly got back into the car and accelerated, while he was driving, she was looking up. The road continued through a valley, with trees covering both sides and crossing overhead. The object would swiftly fly above, disappearing from their view, then reappear. They mentioned it made no noise while moving, only the sound of the wind as it moved apart. At some point, it simply vanished. They arrived home and stayed inside for days.
He didn’t leave the house for weeks; he’s traumatized to this day. He’s convinced they will come back and take him. They’re both sane, though now old, but they’ve recounted the story many times. Their behavior changes when they tell it, and they don’t enjoy recounting the experience.
They have no reason to lie and everybody in the nearby villages know about the story. It’s not the only time weird things have been seen around.
