I was heavy into the UFO phenomena during the early days of the internet (hello grandpa) but I eventually lost touch with it because everything was either faked or could have a prosaic explanation. I think more than anything, I got tired of the hoaxes. The absurdity on Ancient Aliens also sent me over the edge (to be clear, I am open minded to the idea, but the way they bent and ignored facts and saw EVERYTHING as alien was stupid. There was 0 credible evidence).
My interest got peaked again with the pentagon videos, Grusch, etc. (like I think most people here) and I decided to get back into it so see if there is anything there or if it is still all smoke and mirrors (nothing has show me otherwise yet but I am now paying attention). As such, I am a little out of touch with all the “personalities” of the UFO community. From the little I know I am beginning to form opinions on certain ones and their credibility, however, I can’t make sense of one…
Tom DeLonge. Why is anyone taking anything this guy says seriously? Can anyone explain it to me? HOW does he know anyting? His claims are so batshit crazy–which seems right for a guy singing about F-ing a dog up the A. I am genuinely curious because at the moment, someone says “DeLonge said X”, I just ignore it. Who is he to know anything? Everyone is so focuses on this movie of his… a piece of fiction… as if it has secrets in it. Again, who is he to know anything and relay it?
TL;DR – Why does anyone give credence to anything DeLonge says? Who is he to know anything about the phenomena beyond pure speculation?
