Rep. Andy Ogles just posted on Twitter the following statement:
” Just got out of the classified UFO briefing. I asked VERY specific questions (many of which you sent to me), all of which were dodged or given typical, ambiguous answers. The fight is not over. We are ready for the truth. “
From the sound of his statement he was not able to get any specific answers to any of his questions.
That said, I believe this was still a useful hearing as it is demonstrating to Congress that the intelligence community is abusing the classification laws to prohibit the constitutionally mandated oversight ability of Congress.
He even touches upon this in the video statement.
“What you see is an over-compartmentalization of the truth.”
It’s possible if the intelligence community keeps denying Congress access to facts regarding UAP, Congress will get frustrated enough to change the classification laws.
We need changes to the classification laws. Regarding the UAP topic, the intelligence community is potentially abusing the classification laws to:
Suppress whistleblower testimony (Congress denied access to Grusch testimony) Hide facts/truth about the reality of the world from the American people, including the vast majority of both congressional bodies (nobody except 8 people in all of congress can even be read into these programs, if that?) Intentionally and directly obstruct justice (pulling Grusch’s clearance so he can’t even testify about potential crimes)
The classification system was never intended to allow for rogue elements of the government or military industrial congress to prevent Congress from carrying out it’s constitutionally mandated oversight authority. Even if Grusch’s claims are 100% false the classification system is currently damaging the country by not allowing congress property authority to investigate these claims and prove to the American people they’re false.
What type of system would ever be designed for the ICIG to be required to report to Congress an “urgent and credible” whistleblower claim, and when Congress actually responds to inquire and investigate the claim, the ICIG says “you’re not authorized to know any details about this,” including even potentially simply reading the report that caused the ICIG to alert congress to the urgent and credible issue. That’s ridiculous.
Congress – if you’re reading this – please fix these issues with the classification laws to allow Congress to carry out it’s constitutionally mandated oversight abilities.
Rep. Andy Ogles does end his video statement on a positive note. He states:
“But we’re going to keep digging. We’re going to keep searching. And we will find the truth.”
Rep. Andy Ogle’s Post-Briefing Video Statement
EDIT: Tacking this onto this post, since a second video has come out from Rep. Grothman, stating similar things:
Rep. Grothman’s statement after the hearing
Rep. Grothman stated:
“They send us beaucrats who don’t know on purpose. If I wanted to put any doubts here at rest, I’m sure there are people who can and cannot do it, and those are not the people who were offered up.”
