In two different interviews, former Canadian minister of defense Paul Hellyer (recently referenced by Karl Nell at the SALT conference) has claimed that a former USAF general confirmed to him that the UFO crash retrieval claims of Philip Corso were true:

In both interviews, Hellyer says it was his nephew (presumably a military guy as well) who had first received this revelation from the general, and then Hellyer himself contacted the general (whom he had met before) and received the same confirmation: “Every word is true and more.”
Weirdly, this is not mentioned by anyone in spite of the many discussions on Hellyer’s credibility going on at the moment. While I, too, am extremely skeptical of most of the beliefs Hellyer espoused in his old age, I’d like to know if this story is a confabulation or actually happened. So the obvious questions then are:
Who is his nephew? Will someone try to interview him?
