State of the art in drone tech

I think many of us witnessed some amazing drone shows on New Year’s Eve, either in person or on the internet. In this subreddit, I often see videos of lights in formation following some regular trajectories, displaying none of the “5 observables”. Although not all lights in formation are drones, I’d like to remind everyone of what drones can achieve nowadays. IMO, most videos I see in this subreddit are just noise and add nothing to a rigorous scientific discussion. If some UAP have extraterrestrial origin those must be found in the “tail of the distribution”, i.e. they don’t constitute the majority of the events. Therefore it’s important to reduce the noise.

On a side note, I’m convinced that nowadays a single video is no more sufficient evidence and cannot be trusted. It’s becoming easier and easier to generate realistic videos with generative AI. Some requirements to mitigate this issues and increase the credibility of witnesses is: (1) multiple videos by different witnesses, (2) multimodal evidence such as radar, infrared and RGB videos, acquired simultaneously and ideally made publicly available in raw format (3) evidence released by well-known organizations (such as the videos released by the Pentagon in 2017).
