Template to Congress:
Dear [Congressperson’s Name],
There is mounting evidence that foreign intelligence agencies within the Five Eyes alliance—including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand—are engaged in practices that influence American elections. Through intelligence-sharing agreements, these nations are able to collect sensitive political data and share it with U.S. agencies in ways that circumvent domestic legal restrictions.
This arrangement effectively allows foreign actors to influence our democratic process while avoiding direct accountability. By collecting and disseminating politically sensitive information, these foreign intelligence agencies have the ability to shape narratives, control the flow of information, and exert pressure on political outcomes in the United States.
Congress must take immediate action to investigate the extent of this foreign influence and implement safeguards to prevent further interference. Our electoral system must remain under the control of the American people—not foreign intelligence agencies.
