Template to Congress:
Dear [Congressperson’s Name],
The misuse of government funds within classified programs has reached an unacceptable level. Testimony from multiple sources, including former intelligence officials and military personnel, has revealed that significant amounts of taxpayer money are being funneled into undisclosed operations with no oversight. This lack of accountability is a clear violation of the public’s trust.
The continued secrecy surrounding these expenditures prevents Congress from fulfilling its constitutional duty of oversight. Programs that operate under the justification of national security are not exempt from financial transparency. There must be a full audit of all Special Access Programs (SAPs) to ensure that government funds are not being wasted or used in ways that violate ethical and legal standards.
If agencies or private contractors are found to have engaged in fraud or misrepresentation, they must be held accountable. The American people deserve to know how their tax dollars are being spent and to have confidence that those funds are being used for the public good, not to shield corrupt financial dealings.
