More and more, especially in the last few days, I’ve seen so many people making really unfortunate statements about journalists, specimens and some footage.
Discrediting Journalists:
Outright saying all claims by a journalist are false because they aren’t giving all the info out immediately is ridiculous since this can have real repercussions to them, their sources or the public. Remember, this info is supposedly kept under wraps to a degree even higher than the H-bomb. We have suspected, and now have testimony from Grusch that people have been threatened (or worse) for having inside knowledge on this topic. Many of these sources would have a spouse/partner and/or children that they need to keep safe, ignoring the fact of safety because you want information now is not realistic.
I understand the feeling and am frustrated at the pace of this process as well, but not enough to forget the real world implications of these thing.
Scientific Studies:
The issue of the Nazca Mummies are the easiest one to use as an example here. On one side people want these mummies so badly to be real, on the other side, the mummies look almost like a silly arts-and-crafts project. Regardless, the solution to finding out if they are real or not, is for them to be studied scientifically. As for the studies that have been done, people on both sides need to have a more objective, scientific outlook on them. Look at the evidence that we do have while also push for more people to study them. Also just because a university isn’t American, doesn’t mean their studies are garbage.
I’m not here to argue my own opinion whether or not they’re real, but in almost all posts I’ve seen about them, there are a sea of comments that disregard evidence (in either direction). So many conversations just divulge into insults and bad rhetoric.
Video Footage:
I think we can all agree that most of the video and photos posted online are terrible. Although I find that a lot of people around this topic try to just take the opportunity to make themselves look smart. In my opinion, if something cannot be explained by someone relatively simply, it isn’t your job to pour over the footage to prove to people that it’s fake or that they saw something mundane. This is part of the problem, albeit at a much smaller scale, why professionals don’t come forward with their experiences or are shamed whenever they do.
By no means am I telling you not to be skeptical or believe that every twinkling light/constellation in the sky is a UAP, but I have seen some decently compelling videos try to be explained away with no valid arguments, or by statements even more unbelievable than the video itself.
TL;DR: The age-old issue of people not getting information at the speed they want it at, making vibes-based arguments or trying to boost their ego, and resorting to annoying rhetoric in favour of their beliefs. This trend is only increasing, in my eyes, at a faster and faster speed.
