Hi all.
After rewatching Independence Day for another time, it dawned on me how powerful the message about the cost of lack of disclosure is, which I had not fully processed.
In the event that alien intelligences are hostile, and if there are materials or biologicals, we may be missing key pieces to defend ourselves now. Research happens at scale, and having as many people look at evidence would be the best strategy rather than secrecy.
