The Emerging UFO Religions

Anyone who has immersed themself in the world of UFOs at some time knows there has always been a metaphysical side of this. But this has mostly been attributed to the idea that “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” [Arthur C. Clarke]. Most people did not consider this to be a spiritual subject. But then again, all along there have been reports from claimed experiencers claiming a perceived spiritual connect to a craft or sighting. They claim to feel a psychic connection. And maybe they do! But is it real or just an emotional reaction to something seemingly inexplicable?

I used to joke about hearing a knock on the door. If you asked most Americans not that long ago which was more likely, that an alien was knocking on your door, or that an angel was knocking, the majority would probably say it is most likely that an angel is knocking; due to the heavy influence of religion here. Historically [now diminishing] we are primed to believe in angels and God and Jesus, or Allah, or Yahweh, but aliens? Only idiots believe in aliens! But when you ask a scientist which is more likely, she or he would certainly say it is most likely an alien is knocking.

But then I recall a woman who said that aliens came to abduct her. She was terrified so she started praying, and the aliens disappeared with a roar and a swoosh. Her interpretation was that they were demons and she was saved by Jesus. Now, we are three years in after the Pentagon verified that a few videos were genuine UFOs [UAPs], and already we are seeing a new twist on an old twist. It is said the book of Revelations that in the end times, there will be signs in the heavens. Many believe the flurry of UFOs today speak to the end times [in spite of the fact that people have been seeing UFOs for thousands of years].

I have been duped a couple of times by movies seeming to be about UFOs or aliens, when in fact it is really pushing religion! So the lines have been crossed. Not only are UFO claims now becoming spiritual claims, we also have religions starting to move in and claim it as their own beliefs. Even the series on Netflix, called Encounters, starts with a father showing his children a blurry photo of a light and claiming it is a UFO. And look he says as he points to the photo, it is a wheel in a wheel, just like in the book of Ezekiel! LOL! But the point was clear. Religion is claiming UFOs as its own and marking its territory.

So as if the world of UFOs wasn’t complicated enough, now we have to add religion and spirituality, and every sort of spin on God’s will, meditation and prayer, deception, demons, angels, the matrix, quantum mechanics, and UFOs that only exist because you want them too. Maybe this is what the Brookings Report was worried about. But it seems to me that UFOs are officially now a subject of religion, Even some UFO enthusiasts are starting to claim this is somehow connected to the afterlife. Soon we will likely see new UFO faiths coming into existence.

I’m sticking with Arthur. It just looks like magic.
