This is the conclusion I have reached based on the information available, and I would like to start a discussion about this concept. I think this idea is pretty self-explanatory, and I think a lot of people are thinking it already. But that may be a fallacy on my part.
The general idea is that UFO-humanity interactions fall under the category of “foreign relations.” A fundamental concept in foreign relations is that, in order for State A and State B to develop “normal” relations, the leaders of State A must feel assured that they will be safe when they travel to State B, and vice versa. This concept expands to the safety of State A’s citizens when they travel to State B (and vice versa).
These principles are not absolute; the proximity of two states may necessitate that they deal with one another. But, here, ET is not compelled to interact with us and its visitors have no reason to jeopardize their safety by traveling to Earth. ET now knows its safety is in jeopardy, because it can detect uranium-dense weapons peppered all around our planet.
if you were piloting one of those UFOs, and you had a choice between meeting a new (1) advanced, peaceful civilization, (2) unadvanced, harmless civilization, or (3) an advanced, harmful civilization, what would you choose?
To get ET to talk to us, I think the world needs to have unified control over its nuclear arsenal, so that ET knows we have our house in order. What do you guys think?
