The Phenomena Encyclopedia

Getting tired of these constant debates about videos being real vs fake, misinformation vs truth, angels vs demons, ancient vs new, extraterrestrial vs terrestrial, spiritual vs material etc…

Let us instead discuss what the future of this community looks like, as we, along with all of the other UFO, UAP, Alien, NHI, Spiritualism subreddits, Facebook groups, twitter and other communities are the actual proof of the effect of the phenomena.

While we don’t know what everything is just yet, we do know that this community is real, our interest is real. It’s like being snakebitten.

Taking a page out of Diana Pasulka’s book (pun intended), rather than focus on what’s real or not, let’s focus on the BELIEFS and the movement that has been occurring. How our beliefs, formed from the cultural phenomena that is UFO’s (or personal experience), experienced through screens (cell phones, tv, movies, computers), are changing our actual behaviors.

We can debate what is real or not all day until the end of time. But what you cannot debate is the vast number of experiences, footage, photography, testimony, historical records, and government documentation that has been gathered on this phenomena over the last, say, 3,000 years or more, whether fake or not, it is evidence of something happening. Happening to all of us.

What has changed recently, is not the phenomena per say, but instead what has changed is us and our technology.

We are capturing more evidence, sharing our experiences and knowledge, and forcing the truth to be revealed like we could never had done before social media and modern technology was invented.

And as such, those records, research and pieces of evidence should continue to be available for any person to research and digest for the next 3,000 years. At their leisure, actively, or passively. The evidence is not going anywhere.

But it’s hard to research individually even in this day in age, as it’s difficult to sort through everything floating around the internet.

Adoption

As we evolve, and as technology also evolves, what we see is more rapid development and more rapid adoption.

A parabolic curve represents an exponential increase in adoption up until median saturation, then a logarithmic decline in adoption until the whole potential population has adopted. In our modern tech world, adoption rates of new technologies increase rapidly with each new generation or breakthrough.

See fig 1 for parabolic curve

fig 1

Five attributes which affect the rate of adoption: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability and observability.

I don’t want to get into the weeds here, but I think you can see the parallels between these attributes and the phenomena.

I have another article I’m working on in regards to the phenomena and it’s relative advantages, but for now, let’s just say, people tend to like things that other people like. And we like this.

Maybe like is the wrong word. We enjoy studying and following it.

Others will follow.

The parabolic bell curve of adoption.

And when that adoption starts, we better hope this subject has it’s act together. Because if not, adoption will be a shit show.

As time continues, what we see generally, is the rate of adoption increasing ever more radically. See fig 2 below for a visual representation of technology adoption by households in the US from just 1903 to 2016.

And specifically with recent technologies (excluding TikTok, but I think it’s clear it was faster than instagram, unfortunately)… see fig 3 below

Now granted, the phenomena is not a social media or web based app…And this community only has about 2m members, which has taken years, not days.

But my point is, that it can happen quickly.

We’re only a speech, event, announcement, video, or image away from that happening. It’s been that way for a long time, which is why we all feel blue balls.

Blue Balls: Epididymal hypertension, informally referred to as blue balls for men or blue vulva for women, is a harmless but uncomfortable sensation in the genital regions during a prolonged state of sexual arousal.

The Collection of Knowledge

But when these poor souls come join our ever growing and fragmented digital community, they are going to want answers.

And I think we can all agree, this community is not known for answers or for providing a clear chronology of evidence. It’s as funny as it is sad.

Like I said at the beginning, there is so much to digest. The amount of content, videos, photos, stories, accounts, research, articles, etc that exists is vast. It’s all on the internet, but just so hard to find and combine it all into a semblance of linear story building.

But those records, research and pieces of evidence should continue to be available for any person to research and digest for the next 3,000 years. At their leisure, actively, or passively. The evidence is not going anywhere. But it’s hard to research individually even in this day in age.

There is no doubt, the individuals who have paved the road for us to this point are nothing short of heroic. You can name them to infinity. From Hynek, to Grusch, Reagan to Obama, Vallee to Pasulka, even the members and moderators of this subreddit. We can go on and on (I hope I didn’t trigger some of you with any of those names. Let’s not get off track).

But we can’t keep living in the past. We need to start working on building a better future.

A better future made possible due to the advances in knowledge about the technology and world around us. And just maybe, better knowledge about us and our psychology.

We are no doubt powerful creatures, but we all know we are capable of much more. And I think as time goes on, the phenomena, and everything that it’s intertwined with with it, will make us more.

But the only way we can become more, become better from all of this, is to come together, use our knowledge and time to actual create something that can bring future community members value.

I think people will most will value a simple, single source way to get up-to-date so to speak. Perhaps, something like a Phenomena Encyclopedia would fill that role.

It can be released in editions.

With footnotes, fact checking, new information.

It’s not a bible. It’s a college freshman level course on the phenomena.

We get to incorporate all of our favorite pieces of evidence, hypothesis, stories, media, and advice into a single, open source manual.

Just off the top of my head, it makes sense to have a ranked list of books, articles, films, videos, photos and research that can be indexed and easily viewed, via links.

As for the actual content of the work, I think it would be important to have a chronological history of the phenomena to present day. Go back as far as we can, with reason.

Then have chapters based on different aspects of the phenomena for deeper dives. Experiences, technology, psychology, sources, observables, methods, messages, theories, etc.

Then hopefully people will be able to form a sort of a coherent tldr in their brains to spread the message with others, that they can actually digest and then be led to the encyclopedia to learn themselves.

The key is that its collaborative, democratic, evolving and open. Not based on one single individuals biases and opinions.

It’s not a way to gain fame or notoriety, wealth, or success. Authors and contributors can’t be in it for shallow end goals. You must be humble, grounded, and focused on how to communicate the phenomena most accurately.

It’s a bohemoth of an idea and an endeavor. If you think of collections of work such as this have the ability to change behaviors, life trajectories, beliefs, and actions….

Then this potential collection of work surrounding the phenomena, both what we currently know, and what we will learn going forward, will affect our future descendants and the trajectory of our species.

Something like this could potentially reverberate for eternity in our species collective consciousness.

So, anyways, back to the blue balls.

What are we all doing, sitting around wasting away with these gosh darn blue balls.

Let’s be productive.

Rather than sitting around forever with our hand in our pants, reading news story after news story about the same thing over and over again, let’s start building that “Manual” or “Playbook” that people can quickly get up to speed on.

Because I’m not a writer by trade, and I just got into this whole thing a year or two ago. So I can by no means be trusted to spearhead or lead this charge. lol

Anyway, I’m off to buy some Christmas presents. Thanks for reading.

Sorry if all the bold words were annoying.
