UFO spotted at around 0100 near my place of work.

At 0100 on Wednsday, on my way to lunch, I spotted a flying object towards the South, appearing to be moving away from my POV with a very long red tail. Appeared to move at the speed of a plane and looked like an aircraft with the exception of a very long and visible red tail. Continued to fly away from my POV until it completely disappeared into the night sky, which was about 3-5 seconds shortly after taking this photo.

Any ideas what this object was?
