UFOs and Moldavite

When I was somewhere between 10-12 years old, I was on the beach of a river somewhere outside of St. Louis with my father and his girlfriend. I vividly remember sitting in a folding lawn chair looking at the stars with them as our surroundings were nearly pitch black. My dad is a huge spiritual-psychedelic-hippie and has a hyper fixation on everything extraterrestrial. I remember him always wearing various crystals in wire necklaces handmade at music festivals or wherever he would go. This time, he had acquired moldavite. He would go on and on about how this stone is extraterrestrial, came from a meteor, and has ~insane~ powers.

As we sat by this fire, my dad insisted that I hold his moldavite and see what happens. I’m not sure if this same event had happened to him before or if he wanted to genuinely see “what would happen”. I held the stone and we sat there for moments staring into the sky, when suddenly there were satellite/star shaped objects floating around the sky above us. I have seen Starlink several times and I know how satellites appear as they cross the sky. So I am certain that these lights were neither of those. However, they did appear very similar in size and brightness.

If I can recall the timeframe correctly, it seemed like every few minutes another light would join the general area that we were staring into and began correlating their strides together. I can assure that these lights were not crossing in straight lines through the sky, they were flowing together in various patterns above our heads specifically where we were previously gazing before they arrived. They would move in clusters at some points and then disperse and go their own random ways. There was no designated pattern or speed, they were just…hanging out. I think this went on for maybe 10-15 minutes.

I do not remember thinking much of the event at the time but I do remember my dads excitement. I thought I had seen “ufos” before because of satellites that would cross, so for some reason it didn’t feel like anything new. Whatever we saw in the sky that night was unlike something I have ever seen and I feel like it is unexplainable. All I know is that it felt as if holding this stone attracted some sort of extraterrestrial energy and it felt as we were communicating. I don’t know.

What could this have been?!
