Lately I’ve been hearing a revival and retooled version of the early 90s conspiracy theories regarding LDS and UFOs.
Accordingly, the aliens are in direct contact and collusion with the leadership of the LDS to create a database of the human race. Focusing on genealogies and family histories
I think this conspiracy grew out of the LDS’s attention to genealogies and misunderstandings about Mormons supposed beliefs about life on other planets and humans becoming gods and such. There was even a reference in the XFiles
The latest twist to the claim that the large eyed skinny bodied “typical” aliens is that they are actually genetically modified humans that were created by actual aliens (with direct help from LDS). the modified humans are used by aliens to pilot UFOs and interact with humans.
