What would it look like if the US Gov was – not – trying to hide anything?

I firmly believe that given the vastness of the universe, it’s improbable that life only exists on Earth. So, do I think Non-Human Intelligences (NHIs) exist? Absolutely.

Yet, our current scientific understanding suggests that contacting such civilizations might be nearly impossible due to the sheer distances involved. Traveling at the speed of light is slow when we consider the vast gaps between galaxies and planetary systems. For an NHI to reach us, they’d likely need to manipulate space, time, or space-time—a feat that would demand unimaginable energy.

Interestingly, there’s a prevailing notion in some circles that certain governments, notably the US, might be hiding evidence of encounters with NHIs or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs). Given the US government’s track record of secrecy, it wouldn’t shock me if they concealed such an encounter, whether for military reasons, geopolitical considerations, or other motives.

However, here’s where I’m torn: The US government has always exhibited a secretive demeanor. It’s hard to discern if their actions are suspicious due to hiding something or if it’s just their typical behavior.

So what make you guys so sure that something’s really going on?
