When did (the majority of) people start thinking that those who talked about UFOs or aliens / ETs sounded crazy?

and/or they just ignore you, rather then being curious.

I’m watching UFO 1973 (EBE Award winner)…and there is a clip of Walter Cronkite talking about UFOs. He was the major on screen news reporter of his day (60s and 70s)
