“black pointy 30ft tall” UFO reported at 6500 ft by pilot on 20 December 2023 near Frederick Municipal Airport, MD

A Private Piper Cherokee Arrow (P28R), registration N30024, performing flight from Pittsburgh Allegheny County Airport, PA (USA) to Frederick Municipal Airport, MD (USA) was about 50 miles north-west of Frederick Airport when the pilot reported a 30ft tall triangular figure flying opposite direction of them at about 6500-6800 feet. As the pilot said that it was hard to describe the object. They were unsure what it was. Local time was 12:05 PM.

The video contains real ATC communications and the reconstructed flight path. The pilot took a photograph.

The pilot stated it was black and pointy, in the shape of a triangle, 30ft (=10 m) tall, “it was bottom and flat on top”. The ATC asked the pilot to call them afterwards to discuss the details. The pilot reported the sighting to make other aircraft aware of the unusual traffic, but he said it didn’t appear dangerous.
