The people that have talked about how awful the truth is are still going right on with their lives as normal. If the truth was so horrific, these people would not be continuing to do public interviews or may not even retain their sanity. Knowing something as terrible as they have insinuated would psychologically break a typical person. So;
They don’t actually know and/or believe that “truth”
Are making the whole thing up
It isn’t actually THAT earth shattering
Know it’s a false narrative that doesn’t actually exist
