Unexpected consequence of catastrophic disclosure.

If there is some form of disclosure, there is likely to be a massive disturbance in the faith/beliefs of those who are steadfast in their religion.

I believe the issue with the government releasing any confirmation, is less about people feeling disturbed with whatever the “truth” is, and more about people actually behaving poorly.

Have you ever considered how many people on this planet actively choose to not partake in crime, explicitly because of their fear of God? There are people that would have no issue commiting murder, theft, sexual assault, etc. if their God wasn’t going to judge them for it.

So what do you think will happen if they were told God is absent, non-existent, or ambivalent?

What drives these people continue to function properly within our societies?

Nothing.

I sincerely believe that they’re worried we’ll have chaos following disclosure, specifically because of the volume of unhinged religious individuals unshackled from their “fear of God”.

If anyone else has any other theories, I’m all for it. I’d really love to be wrong about this, but I don’t think I am. I really feel this is the simple truth.
