What was the first publicly known/published account of the so-called “Gray Alien”?

So far as I can tell it was Betty Andreasson’s account. Her book was published in 1979.
• None of the Roswell testimonies mention big black eyes. They say small, frail, child-like, large head. (1947)

• The Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe where 60 children witnessed gray aliens wasn’t till the 90s. (1994)

Do you know any accounts earlier than 1979?
