Does anyone analyze radar data for a living (or for a class)? I’m thinking of events where people said there was something strange in the sky for a while, maybe moving slowly or hovering for minutes. Can weather radar data or other publicly available radar data be used to detect this?
For example, I’m thinking of the Lake Michigan 1994 case (on Netflix’s Unsolved Mysteries): https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/unsolved-mysteries-something-in-the-sky. For those interested, Unsolved Mysteries provides some bonus material in a Dropbox link at the bottom of that Netflix page.
But there’s no radar data in that Dropbox folder. Would publicly available historical weather radar data during that time be able to detect some object hovering and moving in the way described by the witnesses?
If you’re a meteorologist or have some skill to analyze radar data, can you look into that event and report back what you find?
