What if it’s not who you think is keeping the secrets and holding us back?

So go with me here cause this is just a theory and I will readily admit I am wrong and accept all rebuttals and down votes this will bring.

This is all about Religion.

I’ll mention one point in history though there are many other examples of religion trying to hold back science. We all know the dark ages. The religious saw the rise of scientific discovery and put a stop on it. Why? Well because people only turn to religion when times are hard and life is difficult. It helps us through things that might otherwise take us down. Without strife there is no need for religion. The religious leaders where smart enough to see this and did all they could to stop it or slow it.

A populace without wants or needs is no longer in strife. Sure some would still hold religion as it is a very personal thing. However they would not likely engage in organized religion and certainly not on the scale we see today.

I submit that the real power in our world is religions of various types. They all know a world with free energy and no needs or wants leads to little to no strife. Without that push why turn to them and give them power, influence and wealth? So you stop or slow the progress to a utopian society. Now think what they would feel if we could travel to other stars and find other intelligent life? That would certainly cost them more believers.

I think if any power on this planet is behind the coverup of technology, or NHI if real, it would be the religions and their leaders that would head that effort.

They do not want to loose that control and are prepared to do whatever it takes. However their grasp is fading because people are slowly turning away from organized religion naturally as the human race overall becomes more knowledgeable.

One way or another I have no doubt religion is behind part if not all of this coverup. Look who recently made a vocal call to control AI, yeah The Pope. Catching on yet?

Somber dark secret? Religion has stopped us from utopia by convincing us it’s the only real answer.
