I saw my first sighting this week. Both my son and I were looking out of his bedroom window, looking at the stars before his bedtime story and a white/yellow lit orb streaked across the sky infront of us. It was fast and high up, faster than any plane or drone. I immediately thought it was a meteor, and was just about to tell my son it was a shooting star until it veered heavily and shot off in a different direction out of sight.
It was a clear evening, so I’ve kind of discounted any kind of lightening. Is there any other environmental/weather phenomenon it could have been?
We live in Lincolnshire, close to a few RAF bases so not unused to seeing a lot of activity in the air. However, this wasn’t like anything I’ve seen before. The pace it was moving and then what looked like a deliberate maneover; has me baffled. All happened within the a few seconds.. so I have renewed sympathy with those who do not film what they see.. it was there and then it was gone. I know what I saw though.
Anybody relate? Any possible explanations?
