Enough with impunity! Put up or shut up – Stop writing to your representatives and to Santa, write to the people making the claims!

Recently, another Redditor here took the excellent initiative to write a letter to Garry Nolan, asking him direct evidence.

Here it is, for reference, keep it in mind, it will come handy later:

https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/1ad4pp7/open_letter_to_garry_nolan/

I’d like to push forward this initiative and go beyond, trying to have a wider analysis.

First off, stop writing to your representatives.

They don’t read your letters. It’s the same as writing to Santa. The letters are received by secretaries that read them, classify them in themes and then transmit them to even lower sub secretaries to write a generic answer that has the goal of giving you the impression that they care about you and are doing stuff, but actually doing nothing and engaging no responsibility.

This stupid initiative was promoted if not astroturfed by UFO celebs, the precise people making the claims, to give you the impression of being part of something, but also to divert your attention from them. Which brings me to my second point.

Contact the relevant people.

Ever since the current mediatic episode began, in 2017 with the first Elizondo revelations and the appearance of Fravor on the public stage, we can see a pattern: none of the revelations were made from the gov itself. Never. Not a single pic. They virtually continued their indifference of before 2017, the one they had since 1947 publicly.

Everything that came out, in “drips”, since 2017, was the act of the UFO celebs, the only ones making the claims, the only one that argue for the existence of evidence. Which is why, btw, contacting your representatives is useless. They don’t know a thing, they only care for electoral reasons and the UFO crowd, whether you like it or not, isn’t vocal enough to be heard beyond those very circles where you’re reading this (the frustration of being misunderstood by so many of you in so many posts by even their relatives attest that).

The only people that might be in the know, in the intelligence community or in co contractors like Lockheed Martin, do not want to reveal stuff. They’ve been keeping it silent for 77 years (according to the current UFO canon) and are very well ready to go for another 77 years. Nothing will come out of them (you can’t even reach them). If you go for them, then see you in the year 2101!

Which leaves us with the only people that actually interact with us and provide content: the UFO celebs. And these people have been making claims scott free for too long.

Enough with impunity.

In many recent comments and posts, i’ve seen increase a loss of patience for pompous claims, for “huge news coming soon!”, for “a bombshell in 2 weeks!”, a sentiment i’ve had since 2021 and making my account but that has been gaining popularity recently under the rallying cry of “put up or shut up!“.

If i claimed something extraordinary as having a cure for cancer, i would sincerely hope you hold my feet to the fire and not let me utter a single word on the topic of medecine without surrounding me with questions about my extraordinary cure. The medical world and the many people suffering from that awful disease, along with their loved ones shall give me no respite on that intellectual ground, rightfully.

We should apply the same standards to the claims about alien intelligent life, which, skeptics or believers, we should all agree would be the most important discovery in the history of our species.

The UFO celebs making the claims and producing little to no evidence (when it’s not outright garbage like the Bokeh pyramids or the jellyfish thing from Corbell or the Peruvian mummies) hid for a long time behind the Galileo gambit, making accusations of persecution at the slightest criticism, even using the actual stigma that many here go through as a shield for every little criticism against them.

They also developped a cult of personality by talking for hours on podcasts of their personal life, establishing parasocial expectations in the audience.

These things gave them the feeling of impunity, the thought that they could claim the most outlandish supernatural claim without ever producing evidence and hiding behind NDAs and such.

Imagine if Daniel Ellsberg did the same for the Pentagon Papers! Or Woodward and Bernstein on the Watergate! Or Assange, Snowden, Manning, Winner!

We would still be in the dark.

What to do?

These people believe you’re a gullible flock that can be lead up to the next sensational announcement at which point you’ll have forgotten the last one. They think you can be milked for podcasts, documentaries, books and other trinkets to fill their pockets. They behave with impunity.

But there is one thing that matters to them. Their public perception. They’ve rightfully been trying to popularize this topic for a while, failing to reach beyond circles like this subreddit (see the stigma above). They use this subreddit as a petri dish for how their claims will be received, a friendly field to test mediatic entries.

And believe me, they read this place. It’s the only place they have a reach over an audience. There isn’t only Garry Nolan that is scrolling around here (he has an account here, for those of you who don’t know).

And most of their big info releases like the Jellyfish one were made in times of impopularity for them even here, when the UAPDA law was rejected for example, when the steam comes down from a failure. They release partially stuff at will when they feel they’re losing mediaticly even in their own field.

And this is how we can act.

The letter above is an excellent idea. We should apply it to other people making claims. Or even the same person, since we all are different and have different points of focus of our curiosity. You can of course take the one above as a template.

But as i said, i’d like to go further.

Do something we should have been doing since day 1. Applying pressure on the actual people that claim to have evidence. In a more simpler manner.

Trigger Warning: I do not advocate for disrespectful behavior and do not endorse going to personal handles of people, let’s remain humane and respectful of everyone and their private lives.

What we should do is, whether it is podcasts on Youtube, Twitter publications, Reddit posts, asks merciless questions to the people making the claim in an unavoidable way everytime they make claims about the topic (again, respect their private lives!).

Boycott is also a good solution, show them their actions have consequences (i’m already boycotting podcasts and documentaries).

We shouldn’t let them go away in impunity with massive unsubstantiated claims.

If this place and their usual promotion places are filled with comments asking them for evidence, they will as usual drop them under pressure. No need to make a long letter or post in your demand.

Just simple comments, that are more important in numbers than the brainless “oh wow, you’re such a great person, bear my childs!”.

There needs to be the universal idea in those spaces that we will not take those evidenceless claims anymore.

We are a community. We are united by the same desire to know. Not a “want to believe“. By letting these people milk us with their claims, we are only entertaining the secrecy, we are validating the idea of not publishing things, we are acting in a counterproductive manner.

They should not be able to not see our discontent at the lack of evidence.

This is what plagues the topic with stigma. Pompous claims without evidence.

This is the only weight we have on the topic here, our only mode of action, the only one that bore fruits.

Let’s make our voices heard.
