Why don’t we see UFOs when looking up at the night sky?

I’m going to start this off saying that I am a beginner in the whole UFO thing and have only been in the community a few months, also my general knowledge is somewhat limited so this may be a stupid question

But from all the sightings that have been allegedly caught on video you would think that if you pointed an appropriate camera at the night sky in a higher UFO traffic area (coasts maybe) and got a few months of recording and reviewing the footage then it would be likely that you might catch a few orbs flying around in zigzags or insane speed, or a tic tac ufo or something.

Or is the phenomenon more rare than the internet makes it appear?
