What if there’s a good reason why there’s no disclosure?

We often assume that there is no disclosure because of military priorities, secret research or things like that. What if there’s actually a good reason?

I often think most people would handle disclosure well, but what if it’s all a bit different than we presume? One thing I can think of is that aliens could be so much more intelligent than us. So much so that we’d be intellectually closer to birds than to them.

Imagine if the population finds out that we’re not just not alone, but we’re basically completely insignificant?
