For those of you that don’t know, OpenAI announced Sora https://openai.com/sora , a groundbreaking new video model (text to video and video to video) in its effort to teach machines how to understand the physical world. The model is miles ahead of the competition and can produce photorealistic video from a simple text prompt. The reason I bring this up here is because it’s only a matter of time before bad actors begin flooding the internet with bogus UFO videos, further throwing into question the validity of real videos. This makes us heavily reliant on video with accompanying sensor data aka military (side note there’s a real need to erode the stigma in the scientific community so that they start investing in earth atmosphere sensors themselves).
Sora is not a good development as far as disclosure is concerned, but by no means is it something that can’t be overcome. We’ll need think up new means of verification. But I wanted to raise the alarm bells as it’s only a matter of months before photorealistic fake videos of UFOs start appearing here and all over the internet.
