it won’t be like Star Trek

the basic elements of Star Trek are common on this sub. people bring elements with them to this topic, like baggage they carry around in their minds. but UFO disclosure will not be like the Vulcans making first contact with Zefram Cochrane.

for Roddenberry, Star Trek was about human nature not ET. it was about where we were, where we are now, and what we will become. ET was a convenient metaphor for that, and the metaphysics of mysticism was always in the subtext, just under the surface of the narrative. Roddenberry was quite philosophical.

and metaphysics are just under the surface of the UFO itself. the casual Star Trek viewer and the casual UFO buff has the luxury of ignoring it, but that luxury disappears in the rabbit hole.
