The Streisand effect of publishing hit pieces on UFO whistleblowers and how it backfired and legitimized Dave Grusch even more

I think it’s worth reflecting here over the very curious case of The Intercept hit piece that was published by Ken Klippenstein soon after Grusch’s testimony regarding his MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES. Which turned out to be PTSD from serving for our country (which we already knew about and was treated successfully), and alcohol use to deal with a friend’s suicide due to PTSD.

I noticed some form of the Streisand Effect after all that BS happened.

There was an outpouring of support for Grusch not just from this community but also outside. Especially from veterans and those currently serving. Whatever temporary effect this shameless hit piece may have had in dissuading other whistleblowers on the fence, it has overall backfired spectacularly on those who attempted to smear Grusch’s name.

And Ken Klippenstein managed to smear his own name among his own peers way more than Dave Grusch’s name.

So I just want this post to serve as a reminder for when another whistleblower inevitably steps forward. Certain mainstream journalists might want to think twice before using bad faith tactics like this out in public again.
