Photos from a few years ago

Not terribly great images I know. They are from an HTC one m8 phone camera. The third blurry image with some color is me trying to hold the phone steady up to the binoculars I had while also holding those steady. July 4th 2017 in NC. Back at my parents house I used to like sitting out on their screened in porch in a hanging chair and listen to audio books and was hoping to see some of the neighbors fireworks that night. I didn’t really get to see any fireworks due to the trees, but as I was sitting there I noticed up in the sky what I thought was a very bright star. After staring at it for a short moment I realized it was way brighter than any star I’ve seen in the sky before and it was slowly changing color from red to white. I went inside and grabbed the binoculars and what I could see through those was and incredibly bright rectangular shape and the light would move from right to left changing from red to white and back to red. Behind the light was a dark oval object I couldn’t make out. I tried taking a few pictures and I realize how hard it is to capture images of stuff like this now. My parents came out and saw it before it zipped away in an instant and disappeared so at least I wasnt the only one who saw. It stayed in the exact same spot never moving for about 5-10 minutes before dissappearing.

Anyway I’ve seen color changing stars in the sky, airplanes and helicopters and have pretty much ruled those out. Thought maybe a drone, but at the distance and how bright it was I didn’t think that possible as this object seemed pretty big. I like to think if it did come from the stars I hope they saw and liked the fireworks, but who knows what tdisappearing. I have had these lame photos getting passed from new phone to phone for years so figured I share them.
