The ‘Estrella de la Esperanza’, known as the UFOport of the region, occupies a four-block space in Capilla del Monte, Cordoba, Argentina. The region’s history dates back to January 9, 1986, when a 120-meter by 70-meter area of burned vegetation was discovered on the slope of Cerro Uritorco, triggering a legend and a series of sightings of objects in the sky. Currently, the area hosts a UFO Research Center and various businesses that sell amulets said to contain “the strange energy of that place.” The local community even claims that Cerro Uritorco is the gateway to an extraterrestrial city.
