When we look through certain narratives, many highlight either competing and/or cooperative retrieval and reverse engineering programs between the United States and other key powers.
Similarly. supporting narratives tend to mention NHI interest in nuclear arms – the reported interest ranging from touristy, to invasive, to even specific prohibitions if you believe some of the reported communications.
As the conflict in Ukraine drives on; Russia continues to, from all outward appearances, weaken itself. Now to the point where discussion of tactical nuclear weapon use in conflict zone is being doled out casually (typical) and being taken seriously by all sides (unusual).
If those aforementioned narratives are, at least, partially correct – perhaps the more internally supported drive towards disclosure is in part fueled by concerns about either nuclear or other unexpected technologies appearing on the battlefield (or one in the near future).
If the goal of Russia is to win, regardless of cost or consequence – if they have had success in any of these reported programs, I would imagine something would eventually roll out just as their vaunted T-14 did. At some point you just throw every card you have.
If you are at the point where nuclear weapons are on the table – wouldn’t use of weird NHI tech be at the same level or maybe before?
