Why do UFO/UAPs leave their lights on?

Whenever (mostly) we see UFO/UAPs at night, they have their lights on and I’m wondering what a sensible explanation would be for this.

Even our modern war planes go dark when flying over enemy territory so do we think the aliens are leaving them switched on, on purpose, so we can see them at night?

Or maybe there’s more out there we do t see because they do turn the lights off?

What do people think about this? Should we be looking for more UFOs at night with different sighting technology?
