Star Disappeared

Anybody outside around 8:00pm CT and see a “star” next to the sun as it was setting?? It was very bright and clearly stationary. Just too big and bright for it to be there I stared at it for 3 seconds before I look at my partner to tell them to look up and it disappeared before we could see it.

Approximately 30 min later, the sun is almost down, we BOTH look up and behind some smoke from some burning fields, that bright orb is soaring through sky. She thought I going insane and thinks in a conspiracy psycho. Very sad no one else witnessed it.
