Ramey Memo

I’ve been looking into the famous or not so famous Ramey Memo, which is associated with the 1947 Roswell incident, and I feel this document hasn’t received the attention it deserves within our community. The memo, which surfaced as part of the investigations into what happened at Roswell, is often overshadowed by more sensational aspects of the incident. However, it contains crucial details that could reshape our understanding of what really occurred.

The memo, dated July 8, 1947, explicitly acknowledges the recovery of a “disk” and details the handling and transportation of recovered materials to various military locations. It talks about using aircraft such as B29-ST or C47 for transportation, emphasizing the high priority and secretive nature of the operation. Furthermore, it directs the handling teams on strict security protocols and even mentions manipulating public perception by misstating the event as a weather balloon. This directive to classify all photographic evidence and manage public perception is particularly striking, suggesting a deliberate effort to divert the public and media’s attention from the true nature of what was found.
