In February 2023, three UFOs over US/Canadian airspace were shot at using a sidewinder missile. Would someone please give me their best reasoning for using missiles to shoot down (let’s assume) harmless, prosaic objects (i.e. weather balloons, debris, etc.) before surveillance photos were taken? I mean, the idea that the US/Canada didn’t use a satellite, reconnaissance drone, etc. to get a clear assessment of the object before destroying it is incomprehensible, right? Especially if the UFOs were harmless, prosaic objects. If that were true then there’d really be no hurry to shoot at the UFOs until the surveillance photos/videos were taken, right? And if surveillance photos/videos were taken, then could someone please explain the harm in publicly releasing the photos/videos?
If the UFOs were harmless, then why not release redacted photos/videos? Right? Unless there are no photos and videos, in which case, why are there no photos/videos? Please, someone make this make sense.
