Just a little about me before i get into the sighting. Im an astro photographer, i have seen and photographed the ISS, planets, galaxies etc. Many times and have never seen something i couldn’t explain until now.
I went outside at around 23:00 to get some fresh air. Above the horizon at around 40-45° to the east was a very bright dot which looked like a very bright planet or star, it illuminated pure white light and was stationary in the sky. One of my family members asked me what celestial object it was and i didnt know so i went inside to to grab my phone to open Star Chart. I was only gone for around 10-20 seconds but when i went outside again it was gone. I aligned Star Chart with the sky and there were no planets or bright stars in that area. It was a bit cloudy but only very thin clouds and you could still see the very faint stars though it.
It wasn’t a plane either as it didn’t move or blink. Simply a very bright distant dot of light that was stationary in the sky.
Im very interested in knowing what it could be, because it doesn’t add up with anything i’ve seen before. I live in the middle of nowhere with very few neighbors and very little air pollution. I watched it for about 5 min before i went inside and it disappeared.
